The newest beta of BackTrack boots in vmware and runs flawlessly on my dell
9300 laptop. A real improvement on the os choice, at least in this case

I find that almost every tool I try, works pretty good so far

It's mostly for wireless but other "wired" tools are also present.
Itīs Knoppix based and there are some issues concerning the centrino
wireless module if you plan to use it for wireless.
Burn the cd slow (1x or 2x) because i've burned some (about 7 ) and it's
hard to boot without errors, best solution get an 1 GB usb pen or
external disk and boot from there, if you plan to use it on daily basis
install it on hdx.
Dont try go virtual with it (VMware or Virtual PC) doenst work at least
for me, never tried with xen.
