Just to it make clear:
CDMA2000 1x is an ITU/3G standard to provide voice and data over cdma
GPRS is the packet service over GSM or UMTS network
>From security point of view, the most critical points are the packet backbones (SGSN, GGSN and CGSN).
The main security risks are most linked to the right implementation of the standards and the security policies of the network providers. The Air interface is secure (for now). For bad guys, the LIG is there.
