It sounds as though the Apache config file is written in such a way that
the server's hostname is a virtual server, and that only the virtual server
is configured to run jsp scripts. Further, it sounds like the main server
and the virtual server may both be pointing at the same document root, which
could explain this type of behavior. It's weird, though.
