Has anyone tried to uninstall and reinstall?
Also, try opening ports for the ethereal operation or have we done this
already?
I believe all inbound traffic is denied when the default firewall is
activated.

I just this week installed XP, SP2.
All my WinPCap apps have ceased to function.
I permitted Ethereal, etc... No packets coming in.
I believe I read an article that stated that Microsoft removed the raw
sockets api or something-or-another.

I second the refute. Please check the configuration and that ethereal is a
permitted application? If you are in active directory, check your group
policy?
I also have been using SP2 since beta and it appears to be working just
fine.

I refute this claim, I have been using XP SP2 since Beta and now as a final
release and ethereal works fine for me.
