I second the refute. Please check the configuration and that ethereal is a
permitted application? If you are in active directory, check your group
policy?

I also have been using SP2 since beta and it appears to be working just
fine.

I refute this claim, I have been using XP SP2 since Beta and now as a final
release and ethereal works fine for me.
