When you spoof the MAC and IP of an existing client, do you check your routing tables to make sure you have the proper routes to the network? In my experience, I usually have to manually update my routing table to get packets to go anywhere.
For example, on a *NIX client, I issue:
route add default gw inet <IP address of gateway> netmask <gateway mask>
