A Google API key is unique to you, and is requested from Google. It
allows Google to permit casual use of their search engine for free, but
enables them to charge for professional users.
Warning : This will smack of RTFM -------
But here goes - RTFM!!
To quote the manual:
"5.1 Setup
The first step to use the Googler tool is to get a Google API key. This
is a painless process - having a Google API key is a Good Thing (tm),
and it's free! Simply visit http://api.google.com and fill in the form.
"
Then on Google's site:
"You will need a valid Google account in order to get an API key. If you
don't already have a valid Google account, go to http://www.google.com
to get one.
To get an API key, you must agree to the terms of service.
You will need to supply this API key every time you make a request to
the Google Base data API."
