I perform live analysis and data collection on most systems I work on,
and so I wouldn't recommend not doing so. Case specific, certainly.
But if you're not doing live analysis and data collection you *are*
missing data, data that may be evidence. Further, within two years you
*will* be doing live analysis.
Know what you're doing by learning and practicing before you do it,
document what you do, and be able to articulate your actions.
