Adding type 1 fonts to X

Extracted from Web submission
Tip provided by ?
To add new type 1 fonts to X, get the utility type1inst, install it, and copy
fonts to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1. Run type1inst in this directory,
then xset fp rehash. This will add the new fonts to your system.

[ note of LTT maintainer : the type1inst utility is available in the type1inst (!)
Debian package, and Type 1 fonts are available in the xfntscl package ]
