Re: Monitor too?

That shouldn't be a problem; one monitor is as good as another. I've been
using non-IBM monitors for years, (although not many of them, because the
Pxx monitors have proven reliable). It's not really any different to using
a non-IBM printer, or any other external device.

Just as a heads-up, you may have problems with the power-save: I have found
that some monitors go into power-save when the system is shut-down and don't
wake up quickly enough for you to see the system icons. This can be
annoying if you're trying to boot into maintenance mode. The system should
beep when the first icon appears, so you need to listen for that, or just
keep pressing F5 and hope for the best!

Subject: Monitor too?

I know that IBM will not do service on a server that has had non-IBM memory,
etc installed. Does this include monitors as well? I've had customer with a
failed P72 that's out of warranty. If she replaces it with another brand, is
IBM going to refuse to look at this machine the next time I have to place a
service call for them?
